Pohanmal Saifullah Gharwal is a cadre of History-Geography Department of Social Sciences Faculty. He graduated in 2003 from Habibi Lisa and received a bachelor degree from education university Kabul faculty of social sciences department of history. In the year 2008, he was appointed as a history teacher in the central Darul-ul-Mulamin of Khost province and served there till 2012. Later on, he was selected as a lecturer at Shaikh Zayed University Khost faculty of education department of history and geography. When the faculty of social sciences was established in 2014 and separated from education faculty, Mr. Gharwal was appointed as the assistant of Dean in 2015. In 2017, he found a way to educational management at Kabul University and received his master degree from the mentioned program in 2019. In the same year, he was selected as the head of the Faculty of Social Sciences, currently serving as a lecturer and dean. |

Message of the Dean
Shaikh Zayed University is considered one of the renowned universities in south eastern zoon of the country having 12 faculties functioning in regular times and 6 faculties in the second time. The university has been providing educational quality services for more than two decades to its compatriots. Faculty of social sciences is considered one of the best and vital faculties of the university established under the auspices of education faculty in 2012 by the name of history and geography. As there was a serious need of social sciences in the society that is why by the efforts and cooperation of the leadership of the university the philosophy and sociology department was also established and became a separate and independent faculty of social sciences trains and provides professionals, cadres, teachers and experts to the society in the domain of history, geography, philosophy and sociology.
The purpose of the establishment of the Faculty of Social Sciences is to promote scientific and socio-cultural development through quality higher education because no nation can keep its history, culture and society alive without social sciences. In regard of this, in the presence of the suitable working conditions, the graduates of this faculty will play an active role in the socio-cultural and socio-economic development and prosperity of the country. The Faculty of Social Sciences is determined to serve its students and society through using its available facilities and the experiences of its lecturers and providing devoted, professional and academic graduates to serve their community.
Both departments of the Faculty of Social Sciences have updated and standard curriculum, which has a close and rigorous touch with modern technology and has been arranged in accordance with societal and market needs keeping in view the regional and international standards. All the lecturers try to compile their teaching materials and teaching them keeping in mind the aforementioned points. As a dean of the faculty, I am fully satisfied from the lecturers and administrative staff because they carry out their assigned duties with full honesty in all academic and administrative areas.
